How to Check if Your Phone is Compatible with an eSIM
Ensuring your phone supports eSIM technology is simple and can be done in a few ways. Here’s a quick guide to help you verify compatibility:
1. Check for an EID Number
The easiest method is to see if your device has an EID number, which indicates eSIM compatibility. If you have an EID number your device is surely eSIM compatible. If not you can try the other ways to see if it is eSIM compatible. To find the EID number you should:
- Open your phone’s calling app.
- Dial *#06# and press call.
- You’ll see one or more IMEI codes (unique device identification numbers) on your screen.
- If there is an EID number or a specific IMEI labeled for eSIM, your device is eSIM-compatible.
2. Check Through Device Settings
Another quick way to verify compatibility is through your phone’s settings:
- Open the Settings app on your phone.
- Tap Connections / Network connection (this option might vary slightly by device).
- Tap SIM Manager.
- If you see an option to Add eSIM, your device likely supports eSIMs.
